For about three days, i haven't watched any television shows. I was trying to break my habit of being a couch potato. Oh well, i did it---but, i lasted for three days only. i can't help it. i'm too addicted to watching tele....hmm, most especially when ncis, csi:ny, csi:miamai, csi, and law and order marathons are aired. i'm hopeless. on a more positive note, by the time classes starts this summer, i won't be able to continue my deplorable habits. i have to do some pencil pushin'. ;) Going back to the title and the story i'm about to tell you...
one hell of a freaky day...
my friday the 13th arrived late... instead, it became friday the 20th. well, maybe because i my favorite number is thirteen that's why i'm kinda immune to the popular superstitious belief. i dunno, maybe that's the case ;)
To start my story, feb. 20 started normally. I did my routines. I turned on the television and my day started it's drastic turn. For starters, i incessantly changed the channels hoping to find my favorite shows. Alas! there it is: CSI:Miami replay marathon. Great! Really great. I may not like Horatio Caine more than Mac Taylor but I still love the show. The episode was entitled, "Curse of the Coffin". You can read the episode summary here-->http://www.csifiles.com/reviews/miami/curse_of_the_coffin.shtml What caught my attention was the Santeria. When i heard this, the first thing that came to my mind is the song from sublime. However, it is not. In fact, Santeria is a syncretic religion, a fusion of Catholicism and native American traditions (voodoo), with its roots from the Caribbean. I'm going to write about it soon. For now, i'llc ontinue with my story. The whole episode petrified me. The voodoo wherein Ryan found the shrine wherein a goat head sacrifice (complete with maggots) as a sign of prosperity was placed. And most especially the miniature wooden coffin gave me the creeps. It was said that it was a sign of bad fortune wherein someone will die if ever placed in the vicinity. Coffins do scare me a lot. When someone dies and i am requdired to attend the funeral services, i never glance at the coffin. I'm too scared and nightmares might visit my sleep. ;( Going back to the episode, the final strike came when the miniature wooden coffin magically appeared beneath the resting chair of the killer. Whew! Creepy!
Anyway, i thought the scare-fest was over. I mean c'mon, it isn't November. Huhu! I was wrong. NCIS replay aired at about 6:00 p.m. and the episode was entitled, "Angel of Death". To read the episode sumary--->http://www.tv.com/ncis/angel-of-death/episode/1024416/recap.html?tag=overview;recap Huhu! When the nurse discovered that the lost girl was different from the girl she saw, chills ran down my spine. Literally. I always picture out the angel of death as someone cloaked in black carrying a grass cutter, maybe like the shinigami in anime shows that are eye candies or like Ryuk from Death Note but never a pretty girl carrying a stuffed toy. Waaahhhhh! I'm such a scaredy-cat and i'm bombarded with creepy episodes all throughout the day. I'm so unfortunate.
Friday the 20th really tormented me psychologically. Huhu! The shivers that ran down my spine and all throughout my body was real and vexing. For a few moments, i sat there staring blankly at the end credits unable to move ;(
Grrr...
